I have been using vinegar in the rinse cycle and its been working out really well and it helps to keep the inside of the dishwasher clean too.
In case you do not have a bunch of dishwasher soap in your stockpile, you can make you own. Just use equal amounts of baking soda & borax. Mix it up in a container. You need 2 tablespoons per load!!
